Have you noticed the use of maps in decor and styling lately? There is something whimsical about maps, they conjur up images of far off places that I have travelled to or want to! I recently created a gorgeous garland made of my old street map book and it is so gorgeous! Have a look at these pics, I especially love them in kid's spaces but also on individual decor pieces such as the letters. These ideas are easy to implement and such conversation starters. Do you love it?
Great post! Maps are so popular in decor these days because it's so versatile. It works in a baby's nursery to an adult's study. My favorite room is the kid's room (no.6). The giant map seems to envelope the space and it makes a wonderful illusion. Thanks for sharing!
i love having a full-size map in the house; i especially like putting pins in the places where i've been, and where i'd like to go! it's a daily reminder that you need to make it there some day.
Love this look...my daughter and son-in-law framed the map they used for a bareboat sail they did for their honeymoon. One of my favorite pieces in their house!!
LOVE maps! I have one in my office, and can't wait to add more "worldly" touches around the rest of my house. You've got a great blog! Thanks for stopping by mine, too! :)
How totally inspiring! I especially love the photo with the map and the longboards... it screams "Let's go on an adventure"! I just adore these photos.
I seriously am adoring your blog -- you find so many lovely images! My favorite here is the map used on the door. I definitely need to do something like that one day.
